Rusten is now 4 months old!

Rusten celebrated his four month birthday on November 23rd!  He has been a busy baby this month.  Here is what he has been up to:

• He got sick with roseola and had to miss two days of school.  He is feeling much better now!
• Rusten is working on holding his bottle during feeding time.  He places his hands on the bottle or will grip the hands of the person holding the bottle.
• He LOVES bath time! 
• He LOVES watching TV!  (Especially sports.  Football, baseball, hockey.. he will even watch the Weather Channel, the local news, or HGTV!)
• We think his eyes are beginning to change color.. they are turning a slightly hazel color and are not as blue as they were when he was born.
• Rusten is growing so fast!  Literally!  He has outgrown his bassinet.  Rusten visited his pediatrician for his 4 month check up and he is in the 98th percentile for height!
• He has now met the Santa at Grapevine Mills and North Park malls.  This next month he is looking forward to visiting with Santas in our neighborhood and at Neiman Marcus.  Here is his picture with the North Park Santa!

Dallas Arboretum

We visited the Dallas Arboretum on Saturday, October 30th. Rusten loves being outside!

Storybook Character Day!

On Thursday, October 28th, Rusten's school had Storybook Character Day. Students dressed up like characters from their favorite books. Rusten's class all dressed as characters from a book called The Napping House. Rusten was the mouse! He was the cutest little mouse, too! The students have a parade around the campus so they can all see each other and what they all dressed up like. Rusten was ready for a nap so his daddy ended up carrying him in the parade. Rusten LOVES his school! The Brown Bear in the picture with him is Ms. Crumley, his principal.

2 months old!

Rusten is officially two months old!

He has outgrown the newborn diapers and is now wearing size one diapers. He has also outgrown many of his adorable newborn outfits. Rusten is growing so fast! He weighs about 12 pounds and at his two month checkup was in the 97th percentile for height!

Rusten loves to relax in his frog chair (a little vibrating rocker chair). He loves to cuddle and snuggle with both is mommy and his daddy (and really anyone else who holds him!), and will often fall asleep when his daddy is holding him. Rusten has discovered his tongue and will lick his arm and hand. To tell us he is hungry, he will naw on his fist. When we feed him, he eats like a little barracuda - so adorable!

Rusten has started going to school this week! He is enrolled in the infant class at Bonham Early Childhood Learning Center. Learning must be wearing him out, because he has been sleeping through the night this week.

already one month old!

Our precious baby is one month old today! We cannot begin to explain how this little guy has changed our life. We love spending every minute with him, watching him grow and change. Rusten has settled into a routine of eating, sleeping, and snuggling. He has had a steady stream of visitors who all comment on what a good baby he is (of course he is! he's ours!!) Our furry children, Gus and Lorena, are adjusting to their new baby brother. They will come close, sniff him, and run away.

Two week update

It's almost been two weeks since our baby arrived!

We have been busy visiting with friends and family.

Rusten is settling into a schedule of eating, napping and snuggling with visitors.

A HUGE THANK YOU to my college roommate and dear friend Michelle Harmon, who got this blog started! It is adorable and we LOVE IT!

Meet Rusten Dewayne Bridges!

We are happy to announce that we welcomed our sweet baby boy, Rusten Dewayne Bridges on Friday, July 23rd at 7:16 pm. He weighs 7 pounds 14 ounces. He is 22 and 3/4 in long.

He is perfect in every way!

For this child I have prayed, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him - 1 Samuel 1:27
